FAQ
The Wisdom of Völva
i.e. answers to your most frequently asked questions.
Is it safe?
YES. Your safety is our priority. We make every effort to ensure that each of you feels safe from the moment you cross the gates to our Viking settlement and can fully devote yourself to a positive experience. The stairs have non-slip strips and handrails. All thresholds are visible and illuminated. There are no dead ends or easily accessible entrances for unwanted guests throughout the entire space.
What about throwing?
To reduce the risk of bounce, our axe handles are made of wood instead of composite material. Our tracks, in turn, are constructed using “anti-bounce” technology. This means that when the axes hit outside the wooden shield, they lose their kinetic energy and fall to the floor. This is aided by thick rubber covers. Between the lanes, there are specially made wooden and mesh walls designed to prevent the thrown tool from crossing over to another lane or landing outside the lane. In addition, each lane has a single target, which further enhances safety.
Nevertheless, before starting the game, each of you will be familiarized by the instructor with the safety rules and proper throwing techniques.
What should I wear?
Comfortable. However, this activity requires arm movements and proper leg positioning – tight clothing can restrict these movements, and uncomfortable shoes can limit your balance. In terms of footwear, we also recommend shoes that cover your toes.
You often ask, “What should I bring with me?” Our answer is: good energy and big smiles—that’s what we love about you! It drives and motivates us.
What will I find there?
Real throwing axes and ninja stars to spice up the game.
Seven lanes with a wooden target screen displaying various interactive games controlled by a mouse.
A barrel and stumps at each lane. You can put your drink, snack, or purse on the barrel. You can sit on the stump.
An Tavern with space for intimate meetings or lavish feasts.
A wide and original bar and food menu.
Spacious toilets divided into ladies’ and men’s toilets.
A one-of-a-kind space that will transport you to the world of Nordic warriors.
Unique energy and cheerful and supportive staff.
Openness to taking photos of you in helmets and with axes.
How can I reserve the tracks?
Take advantage of our online booking option. You can also send us an email (e.g. via the contact form) or call us at the phone numbers listed in the “Contact” tab. We really enjoy talking on the phone and will respond as soon as we can.
Is advance booking necessary?
Definitely. There are days when we are unable to accept guests arriving directly from the street, without a reservation. It would be a shame if you left disappointed. Call or write in advance, and we will be able to arrange a convenient time for a satisfying visit.
Can we eat something at your place?
Of course! In addition to the axe throwing room, we also have an atmospheric and spacious tavern with a fully equipped bar and catering facilities. Currently, the tavern serves Italian-style pizza made on site, original flatbread, and snacks such as halloumi sticks and sweet potato fries. We will soon be expanding our menu with new dishes. And yes, you can eat and drink while throwing axes.
Do you cater for corporate team-building events?
With the pride of true Vikings! Our record – integration for 80 people. But there are also smaller ones – for example, for four people. Depending on your needs, we can tailor our offer to you, starting with the selection of the track, through the creation of a catering package, to hospitality both on the axes and in the tavern. Do you have any questions? Give us a call.
Can you organize a special event at your place?
From birthdays, bachelorette/bachelor parties, engagements, to (wait for it) wakes. Oh yes! We are flexible, we like to entertain and provide food and hospitality. Discuss your party idea with us, book the lanes and the tavern, and spend your time in an atmosphere you won’t find anywhere else. We look forward to hearing from you.
I want to come with my child or I am a minor—what should I do?
In this case, we have only one condition – the consent or presence of an adult. It depends on age. In the case of children, the presence of a guardian is required. Young people aged 14 and over only need consent. Throwing an axe often does not require many years of experience, but a lot of fortitude and the belief that hitting the target is not impossible. Our record? A 4-year-old boy successfully throwing an axe. With his parents’ consent, of course.
If I don't want to play, can I still come and cheer on my friends?
Of course! We have plenty of space for you—especially in the tavern or at the bar, where the staff are always smiling. And if you change your mind and want to join the game, we offer that option. The additional fee depends on the need to change your current booking option, which in turn depends on the space available in the calendar for the next few hours.
Do you have dedicated parking?
Unfortunately not. But we are located in the city center, and there are plenty of parking lots nearby: Szewska Center, Renoma, NFM, parking lots at the Opera House or at Plac Wolności. However, we recommend using public transport or walking—you can enjoy a drink on the way.
Will I receive a VAT invoice?
Of course. However, please remember to inform us that you need it when making your reservation. For reservations paid online, enter your request in the “additional information” field.
What payment methods do you accept?
Online payments can be made via Przelewy24 (BLIK and traditional transfers). On site, you can pay in cash, by card (including American Express), and via BLIK using a terminal. Pre-arranged prepayment by bank transfer is also an option.
What languages do you support?
In Polish and English. We are still learning Old Norse.
With a snide remark: “Axes and alcohol—what could possibly go wrong?”
The basic rule of WIKING is clear: “Anyone who tastes alcohol purchased at the club during the throwing competition will not miss their throw.”
However, if you arrive in a state that clearly indicates intoxication, we will not be able to allow you to participate in the activity. Experience shows that the instructor’s instructions are not absorbed as well in such cases, so the instructor will not allow an intoxicated guest to throw an axe.
